• Soul Labs. The unique sound of everything.

    A book. A photograph. A spoon. A room.

    Each one different.

But they share a secret: a sonic signature you’ve never heard.

  • Music from hidden depths.

At Soul Labs, we turn this signature into music.
    We call them Sonic Twins.

Each piece made directly from the real thing.
From an object, photo or space.

Not inspired by, but derived from.

Music from the very soul and personality of the subject, bringing new meaningful human experiences to life.

  • Even really than the real thing.

This isn’t stock audio. It’s not generative noise. A loop? Certainly not.

A SonicTwin is built from fragments of real identity. A piece of music that could only have come from that singular subject.

A true sonic version of the thing itself.

  • DNA x Craft.

Our work has two equal parts.

First, we extract what’s already there. We call this SonicDNA.

The measurable information within the subject. It’s shape, material, texture, colour, density, space.

Turned into data and waveforms. Into sound.

    And then comes the craft.

Composing new music with understanding - what the subject is for, how it’s used, it’s history and what it represents.

The balance is the work. The outcome is a SonicTwin.

By unlocking the sonic form of an object, image or space, there’s the opportunity for a new deeper, more profound experience.

An entity with the ability to evolve, adapt and scale across locations, seasons and interactions.

A fresh, authentic layer for IP owners – new art and possibilities, extending the life and story of the original without changing what it already is.

Made for where objects and spaces matter.

We are a sonic consultancy & foundry - crafting sound and music, and building systems from objects and environments.

A knob-twiddling aural revolution powered by rebellious human composers, machine learning, and behavioural know-how, Soul Labs is both art and science - but more importantly, it’s designed to make lives better with music.

Let’s deep dive it.

Six Soul Labs facts.

It’s designed for galleries, museums, libraries, as well as public & corporate spaces.

It’s not just any old aural wallpaper: Soul Labs transforms a myriad of spaces and objects into sound and music to enhance experiences and stories.

It’s alive!

This sound experience isn’t static - it can adapt, evolve, and scale across locations, seasons, and interactions, keeping your space dynamic - from triggered electronic soundscapes to emotional human performances.

It’s the birth of Sonic Twins.

Your space already has a sound - you just haven’t heard it yet. Sonic Twins extracts the DNA of your environment and objects, creating a organic, living musical sibling.

It’s your brand: sonified.

Not only do we produce soundtracks from things, but we create them specifically so they support the brand and creative stories you have to tell.

It’s built for people.
With well-being in mind.

We only have one true aim: to make people happy. Soul Labs is designed by creativity and science to enhance life and mental health - making a culture experience that resonates on an emotional level.

Engineered by creative misfits in imaginary lab coats, we’re a UK grown sound revolution, powered by decades of award-winning composition, brand expertise and experimental innovation. And tea.

Sonic Twins explained.

A Sonic Twin is the unique sound identity of a space or object, created by analysing its shape, materials, history and energy - and translating that into living, adaptive, performed sound.

A sculpture becomes a score, a book’s texture becomes a soundtrack, and an office lobby light gifts a sonic signature which changes with the time of the day.

Every Sonic Twin is captured by a combination of sound engineering, compositional creativity and machine learning to extract every layer of unheard sound into something new and unique.

Sound of the Spoon.

During 2024, we ran a Soul Lab pilot scheme for the Camden Highline development in London.

Working hand in hand with both client and a focus group of specially selected ‘Personas’ for feedback, we produced 9+ separate pieces of designed music over a 4 week period directly inspired by the Highline’s design, environment and history.

Who are Soul Labs?

We’re composers, brand designers and social brainiacs. Part of Ambient Soul Music Club, we’ve scored ads, branded companies and worked out how things creatively tick. But we’ve got one mission:

To collaborate with space owners to make music from the DNA of their environments in order to make people happy.

Here’s our story.

It started - like many stories - with obsession.

A team of unusual UK creatives connected. Each with a love for experimental audio, and a deep curiosity - that obsession - for understanding how hidden music can enhance the world.

From sampling echoes of abandoned buildings, or capturing the unheard hum of ancient artifacts, or turning resonances of urban areas into stories of sound.

With this shared love of ambient sound and studios filled with wires and oscillators, and inspired by the spirit of BBC Radiophonic Workshop, we pondered the big questions:

Could you capture the sonic DNA of objects and spaces to improve human existence? Could you make sound and music as important as lighting, architecture, scent and the written word?

Armed with itchy lab coats, LiDAR scanners, and impulse response microphones, we began capturing spaces and objects in new, unusual ways - translating raw DNA data like text and texture into sound.
A whole new language.

But it wasn’t enough to just record: we had to re-imagine.

Those raw, unpredictable sounds are pushed further. Stretched, warped, and woven into new compositions. And then taken back into the real world, to gain interaction and reaction, inspiring fresh compositions and performances in their birth places.

This is Soul Labs.
Making soundtracks
from things.

Your space is speaking. It’s time to listen.

Got a space that
needs to speak?

Soul Labs is now open for commissions, collaborations, and bold new partnerships.

Whether you run a museum, library, cultural space, or innovative brand - we’ll help your environment speak through sound.
