Most people are running on overwhelm. Too much speed, noise and ‘content’. Too many lies and disappointments.
We’re post-scroll. Everyone wants more resonance. To be slower. More real. Signposts are required for a different lifestyle. Rooted in the unusual, the different.
We believe music is the key to make things better.
It can be used to change behaviours. It can be used for a targeted good. It can soundtrack degrowth, for climate action, for social democracy, to curb the worst excesses of capitalism. Where’s a crack in the dark, music can fill it. And that’s our rebellious aim.
Because you don’t need to win a Grammy to have success. You don’t need 30 million streams. You just need to embrace your weird. A few fans, interesting projects and the opportunity to soundtrack profound changes in our culture and society. To make an interesting difference. Less Brit Award and more Nobel Prize.

So, from the four-minute hymn to the shipping forecast, to the sonic twin of a manuscript, every release of music is designed to tell a story. One that moves you.
Balmy injections of the soul that take you somewhere else. Music that makes your life better. Informed by the holy trinity of Air, Four Tet and Boards of Canada, we produce sound like it’s happening in the room next door whilst conducted from a space station. Instillations oozing vintage warmth but built like Lego towers - loop based, evolving and surprising. Powered by humans, but extended by friendly machines.
Our approach is to take this wonderful, moving British weirdness - this concoction of the faded past and jet pack dreams and make it mainstream. In real life, museums and concert halls. On vinyl and iPhones. In tea rooms and advertising agencies.
Repetition as meditation. Mood over message. Quiet music for loud times. Not perfect. Not polished. Just human. But with melodies you can hum.
Our place.
We’re not citizens of nowhere. We just view Britain through a different lens.
You can’t detach culture from environment. Ambient Soul Music Club’s music is a sonic scan of a New Britain unconstrained by ‘Great’. Oscillating between the warmth of nostalgia and the fizz of the future.
We’re the chipped mug - not only composing emotional, ambient soul, but moments of meaning. Crafted sonics, immersive soundscapes and memorable experiences that ignore boundaries, flick the V’s at norms and transmit those unique British qualities: quiet, thoughtful, human, but weirdly, eccentrically beautiful.
And even though we’re made in Britain - this wibbly wobbly isle of Doctor Who, Roald Dahl, Stormzy, Curly Wurlys and the raised eyebrow - we’re designed to be heard and appreciated everywhere.
We believe we’re part of the next remix. Part of a beautiful decline. Leading the way in reclaiming and redefining our nation by representing what’s already there.
Eccentric. Curious. Oddball. Funny. Perhaps slightly camp. But emotional in a disconnected, slower, soulful manner. Taking the best bits of the past and creating something exciting for the future. Creating something more meaningful, better.

Founder.
Emigrating south from the flat midlands at an early age, I developed a love of music via my parent’s cassette box and a Casio PT20.
Life led me to guitars, bands, live sets, hustling and even some national radio play before a side swerve into graphic design, branding and photography.
After nearly 30 years of visual creativity, I returned home to music - to produce intriguing, original and emotional soundtracks and themes, alongside dark, organic ambient compositions and collaborations.
I’m inspired by an array of eclectic musicians from the scores of Jonny Greenwood to the rafter-raising energy of The Chemical Brothers mixed with the low-key eccentricity of Four Tet.
A champion for later life career change and creativity, I believe everyone can, and should have the opportunity to challenge social conventions and pursue their artistic calling at any age.
I live in Maidenhead, UK with my family and a rather large cat.
